UV-light and hydrogen peroxide produce clean, clear, odourless water. The UVP-system is a combination of adding hydrogen peroxide to bath water and then illuminating it with UV light. This produces a synergic effect – in other words, the combination multiplies the destructive and purifying effect many times over. No harmful residual products or substances with an unpleasant odour or an allergenic effect are produced.

The UVP system is ideal for both existing and new facilities.

UV-light purifies effectively

If polluted water is exposed to UV light – in other words, ultraviolet light with a fixed wavelength (253.7nm) – all the micro-organisms are killed. This method is used to purify water from bacteria, viruses and other infectious substances.

The chemical composition of the water is not affected by UV treatment. (The technique can be compared to boiling water.) The method is therefore kind to both human beings and the environment. UV light has been used to disinfect drinking water, first and foremost in the USA, since the 1930s.

Hydrogen peroxide keeps the bacteria at bay

Adding small amounts of hydrogen peroxide keeps the content of bacteria in a swimming pool at a low level. What is more, the hydrogen peroxide also helps to keep the water clear and free from unpleasant odours.

In simple terms, hydrogen peroxide, H2O2, is a water molecule with one oxygen atom “too many”. Hydrogen peroxide effectively purifies and kills micro-organisms. At the same time, it is straightforward and relatively harmless to handle. Hydrogen peroxide is an extremely environmentally-compatible chemical whose end product is oxygenised water.

Bath water

Far too many people who swim at public baths or bathe in public jacuzzis experience different types of reaction, allergy and so on. They are the result of the chlorine that is added to the water to kill bacteria.

Using UV-technology, Raydar is able to offer bacteria-free, odourless, clear bath water.

We call this technology UVP. It is UV disinfection combined with hydrogen peroxide, an extremely environmentally-compatible chemical, whose end product is oxygenized water.

The UVP-system is a combination of adding hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) to the bath water and then illuminating it with UV light. This produces a synergic effect – in other words, the combination multiplies the destructive and purifying effect many times over. No harmful residual products or substances with an unpleasant odour or an allergenic effect are produced!

Seal pool in the Slottskogen Park and at Universeum

Both the Park and Nature Agency in Göteborg and the Universeum natural history centre have chosen UV-technology as part of their machine rooms. Visitors to the Slottskogen Park can now watch the seals, without a green sludge of algae on the water. The same thing applies to the water at the Universeum natural history centre, which is now crystal clear, thanks to Raydar’s UVP-system.

UVP-system is a Raydar registered trademark.
